Our Story

Chef Kayla Badway is a 2010 graduate of the Culinary Program at NCC. She also continued her education and is a 2012 graduate from ESU with a bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management. Working her way through school she had benefited from different environments and exposure to different cuisines.'

 

Chef Kayla has worked all over the Lehigh Valley as well as some parts of northern New Jersey with other catering businesses and restaurants. Her dream was always to own her own place and be a professional party-thrower.  Living and working locally her whole life, she has created a buzz around town. Extremely hard working and completely devoted to her clients, Chef Kayla makes every effort to make each oKaysion special, unique, and unforgettable.

 

oKaysions has been an Alpha, NJ staple since 2015. Surviving the pandemic thanks to her closest and devoted customers, as well as family and friends, she continues to serve up daily lunch and dinner takeout at The Daily Dish. Recently& officially named, the store front that’s been around since the beginning, has been a hidden gem for good and hearty soups & salads, and the in-spot for unique sweet treats. 

 

In the industry since 14 years old, she has learned lots of unique things that you can witness in her cooking every day. Follow her on Instagram & Facebook. You’ll not only watch her little guy (Baby Maurice) grow up and promote his Momma’s good eats, but watch what she has to offer for the day, week, or even holiday.

Business partnered with her father, Darrell, she has created the ultimate family business atmosphere. You can find “Bossman/Dziadeck” smoking meats or pinching pierogi when he is not helping run all of the behind the scenes. Visit The Daily Dish on Tuesdays for his famous Smoked St. Louis Ribs!

 

Most recently Chef Kayla is the reigning champion of the Lehigh Valley Iron Chef- Chopped competition for years 2018, 2019 & 2021 (2020 no competition due to COVID) at the Allentown Fair. She is up to defend her title again this year in September 2022.
